Blackcap (Male)
Blackcap (Male)

This image of a male Blackcap was taken at Port Lympne wildlife park when I was wandering around the site. Spotted it in some wild bushes after hearing it singing loudly. The blackcap breeds in much of Europe, western Asia and northwestern Africa, and its preferred habitat is mature deciduous woodland. These birds are traditionally summer visitors, typically arriving in March and April and migrating south for the autumn but they are increasingly staying in the UK all year round.
